Epigenetics and gene regulation
Transcription regulation is central in my research. We have elucidated composition, function and activity of basal transcription factor complexes like TFIIH, B-TFIID, NC2 and TFIID. In the last decade we placed emphasis on transcription in relation to chromatin regulation and human diseases. Epigenetic regulation is particularly important in cancer. We are studying how disturbed histone methylation affects chromatin function and mRNA synthesis.
