My work is focused on the mechanisms controlling DNA replication, recombination and repair, and cell cycle progression. We are particularly interested in the connections between chromatin structure, translesion polymerases, nucleases that process damaged DNA and DNA damage checkpoint activation. Recently, we have extended our studies to RNase H function following incorporation of rNTPs within genomic DNA and in promoting mismatch repair.
