Human mitochondrial DNA maintenance

My laboratory studies DNA maintenance in mammalian mitochondria. We use in-vitro biochemistry, structural biology, and cell biology to explore the underlying enzymatic processes. We also investigate the molecular consequences of disease-causing mutations affecting mitochondrial DNA replication and work on developing new, rational therapeutic approaches.
