Our long term goal is to unravel the molecular and cellular basis of rhythmic behavior, and particularly how rest-activity patterns are affected by aging; we employ Drosophila as the model system. We focus on the mechanisms recruited by circadian neurons to communicate 'time of day' information to other neuronal clusters, particularly, the daily remodeling of their processes that shapes connectivity beyond the circadian network.
