My group investigates the biology and physiology of infection by Plasmodium, the malaria parasite, and aims to understand how the parasite senses and adapts to its mammalian host. Our data indicates that the web of host-Plasmodium interactions is densely woven but finely balanced. Deciphering and altering this balance will be required if we aim to efficiently control this deadly parasite.
