My group is interested in understanding the principles by which the cytoskeleton organises the interior of cells. We focus in particular on the role of microtubule dynamics and force generation in mitotic spindle formation, polarity establishment, and cross-talk between microtubules and actin filaments. We reconstitute increasingly complex cytoskeletal systems in artificial confinement, made using microfabrication and microfluidics techniques.
