My laboratory studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms of enveloped virus entry and exit. We currently focus on HIV and related viruses using tissue culture and primary cell models with the aim of understanding the role of endocytosis in virus assembly. We are particularly interested in the notion that endocytosis regulates the quality/infectivity of progeny virions and pathogenesis.
