My group uses macromolecular crystallography, single-particle cryo-electron microscopy and analytical biochemistry/biophysics in combination with in-vitro and in-vivo functional assays to elucidate the molecular mechanisms, by which RNAs and proteins cooperate in molecular ribonucleoprotein (RNP) machineries. Our focus is on the regulation of bacterial transcription, pre-mRNA splicing and selected RNP remodeling enzymes.
