My research focuses on molecular architecture and mechanisms of protein-RNA complexes involved in regulating gene expression and in genome defence. Using structural, biochemical and functional approaches, we investigate CRISPR-Cas systems to develop novel genome editing technologies. We also explore RNA-targeting antiviral mechanisms in innate immunity and multi-subunit complexes involved in eukaryotic RNA metabolism and ribosome biogenesis.
