Our laboratory studies the mechanisms by which animals cells organize themselves into complex tissues. We focus on a group of intercellular adhesion molecules, cadherins, and associated signaling systems. We analyze their roles in epithelial and neural morphogenesis, cell migration, and cancer invasion. Our recent studies also include the roles of microtubule minus-end binding proteins in cellular behavior and morphogenesis.
