Our Lab is developing cell therapies for retinal degenerative diseases using iPS cells. The group performed the first application of iPS cells in 2014, the transplantation of retinal pigment epithelial cells for AMD. In 2020 we performed photoreceptor transplantation for retinitis pigmentosa, which was the first organoid transplantation. At Kobe Eye Center, we aim for a complete solution for every case of visual impairment.
