Synapses are brain structures that mediate information transfer between neurons. In the last years it has been recognized that many brain disorders are synaptopathies, i.e. pathological conditions originated by deregulation of molecular pathways operating at the synapse. The research activity of my group focuses on the molecular mechanisms at the basis of synapse dysfunctions and on the contribution of inflammatory molecules in brain diseases.
