Cell and tissue morphogenesis in embryonic development

Our group studies the cellular principles that govern the generation of form and pattern at the tissue and organismal level during embryo development. We apply a process-level view of morphogenesis, with a quantitative interdisciplinary perspective in dialogue with the exact sciences, using teleost fish (zebrafish, annual killifish) and cross-species approaches. Our main research topics include: gastrulation, brain asymmetry and the gut-brain axis.

Keywords: morphogenesis / tissue mechanics / gastrulation / neural development / left-right asymmetry / ageing / zebrafish / annual killifish
