mRNA export & integration with gene expression
My research effort is focused on the nuclear export of mRNA and how it is integrated with preceding steps in the gene expression pathway. We aim to determine the structure of key proteins and complexes and use this information to engineer novel mutants that can be used to determine how function is generated by interactions between the components of the system.
