We aim to understand how the transcriptional machinery and chromatin template are brought together in time and space to robustly regulate transcription. As a model we use the maternal-to-zygotic transition in zebrafish embryos, which is the time when transcription begins and embryos take control of their own development. We take a multidisciplinary approach, including genomics, genetics, cell biology, microscopy, and biophysics.
