My lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of neural progenitor maintenance, a process important for achieving the right balance of differentiation and proliferation during embryonic development. We are also interested in understanding the mechanisms that underlie progenitor heterogeneity, defined as the ability of progenitors cells to respond differently to the same treatment, depending on their embryonic origin or stage of development.
