My lab focuses on understanding how the gamete's chromatin is epigenetically reprogrammed at fertilization to generate a totipotent zygote that will give rise to all cell types of the adult organism. Our discoveries are expected to reveal novel insights into the first steps in the formation of life, and to ultimately advance reproductive and regenerative medicine.
