Biogenesis and architecture of mitochondria

Mitochondria are essential cell organelles containing more than 1,000 different proteins. My team studies the machineries that import and assemble mitochondrial proteins. We are characterizing an endoplasmic reticulum-mitochondria organizing network (ERMIONE) that forms a central platform for the biogenesis and architecture of the mitochondrial membranes.
