My laboratory is focused on studies of the role for mtDNA mutations in pathology and ageing and I also have a strong interest in molecular mechanisms governing germ line transmission of mtDNA. In addition, mechanistic studies are performed to understand the molecular machinery for replication and transcription of mtDNA and mitochondrial translational regulation, by using biochemistry combined with mouse and fly genetics.
