We study structure-function relationships of proteins and macromolecular complexes involved in pathological processes, in particular virus particles, viral proteins and protein-complexes involved in RNA replication as well as other large assemblies. We use a number of molecular and structural biology techniques, in particular X-ray crystallography and combinations of X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy.
