Research in our laboratory attempts to understand mechanisms by which neurons and neural networks operate to generate complex behaviour. In these studies, we use the rodent as a model system to study the molecular, cellular and network organization of circuitries that control rhythmic movements, their development and central control in mammals. We also study plasticity in spinal circuits following lesions of the spinal cord.
