The mechanisms by which our brain is wired during development are still largely unknown. We utilize the genetic power of Drosophila to study wiring and remodeling of developing neural circuits at the molecular level. Neuronal remodeling is critical for sculpting mature neural circuits and when defective, it is implicated in a wide range of neuropsychiatric disorders including autism and schizophrenia.
