The general goal of our research is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the development of the mammalian cerebral cortex, one of the most complex biological structures. We are particularly interested in deciphering the function of genes whose perturbation is implicated in the etiology of psychiatric illnesses that may arise as a consequence of abnormal development of the cerebral cortex.
