Our principal focus is the genetic control of the development of the vertebrate nervous system. Two major issues are addressed: (i) the molecular mechanisms governing the patterning of the segmented hindbrain; (ii) the development and regenerative potential of skin neural stem cells derived from a niche located at the interface between central and peripheral nervous system.
