My lab uses a systems biology approach to analyze how signaling networks control gene expression in development and disease. We combine quantitative imaging, mathematical modeling, optogenetic manipulations, and synthetic gene regulatory networks with the goal to identify signaling mechanisms relevant for our understanding of self-organizing processes, tissue formation, and the treatment of disease states.
