My group seeks to understand vertebrate genome biology by using comparative methods, and to enable genomic science by creating tools and resources for the wider scientific community. We helped to pioneer the techniques of comparative regulatory genomics to investigate the evolution of transcriptional regulation. We annotate genomes and facilitate reproducible science through the Ensembl project and by the creation of foundational data resources.
