I study genetic decoding ranging from genetic code variants to specialized recoding mechanisms used in individual mRNAs. I am also interested in the regulation of RNA translation, particularly how multiple translons within the same RNA molecule influence each other. To achieve these goals, my lab develops computational tools for mining RNA translation data. We then use experimental methods to validate the insights obtained from our data analysis.
