Virus structure and replication
My lab uses cryo-electron microscopy and tomography to characterize virus structure and replication in infected cells. In particular, we are interested in viruses from the families picornaviridae and flaviviridae and bacteriophages infecting pathogenic bacteria. We study how viruses deliver their genomes into the cytoplasm and how virus particles assemble inside infected cells. We focus on genome release and delivery of non-enveloped viruses.
