Plant genome structure and evolution

The main research area at this moment is focused in the evolution of plant genomes. We have sequenced the genome of a traditional horticutural species, melon, that is a diploid and has a genome of intermediate size (450 Mbase). We are interested in the evolution of the species that seems to have suffered an expansion within the last 2 milion years and in the changes suffered during domestication.
