My group primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying the action of Bordetella adenylate cyclase toxin on host phagocytes. We analyze structure-function relationships of toxin-receptor interactions, membrane translocation, the signaling output of the multiple toxin activities and toxin role in bacterial virulence. We also develop tools for delivery of antigens into dendritic cells for induction of T-cell immune responses
