Our lab's primary research interest is understanding molecular mechanisms and biological roles of small RNA pathways in germlines of mammals and molluscs. We explore several research directions, which revolve around evolutionary adaptations and molecular details of small RNA pathway mechanisms, control of retrotransposons by small RNAs, and experimental manipulation of canonical RNAi pathway to provide antiviral defense.
