We study genome-wide RNA expression and its complex regulation, focusing on identification and functional analysis of regulatory elements such as promoters, enhancers, lncRNA and retrotransposons using originally developed technologies like CAGE, which links expression to regulatory elements. We organize the FANTOM project, focusing next on broadly mapping lncRNA function. We also focus on single cell genomics technologies and the Human Cell Atlas.
