Our research focuses on the functional consequences of myelin plasticity and demyelination, with emphasis on multiple sclerosis. We have shown how neuronal activity regulates myelin formation and influences circuit function. Recently, we demonstrated that focal white matter lesions drive grey matter dysfunction and synapse loss, providing novel mechanistic insight into neurodegenerative disease progression.
