My research focuses on computations that emerge from interactions between neurons in circuits. Using a combination of optical, neurophysiological, computational, molecular and other approaches in the olfactory system of zebrafish, we examine neuronal computations involved in higher brain functions and their mechanistic basis. The long-term goal is a rigorous quantitative understanding of neuronal circuits and their dysfunctions in disease.
