The mission of my lab is to develop and apply new technologies and methods spanning gene editing, molecular biology, and functional genomics – towards enabling high-throughput mechanistic studies linking genes and genomes to cellular processes underlying disease. We exploit DNA sequencing, synthetic gene circuits, and microbial defense systems, such as CRISPR-Cas, to create diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for disorders of the gut and brain.
