Stem cells for modeling and treating CNS pathology
My group studies mechanisms of neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation and explores the potential of therapeutic cell transplantation for the treatment of CNS pathology in animal models of brain and spinal cord injury. A major interest of the lab is the use of cell reprogramming technologies for generation of human neurons to model neurodegenerative diseases, study disease mechanisms and identify new therapeutic targets.
