Molecular mechanisms of presynaptic function

My group's primary interest is in the mechanism of membrane fusion mediated by SNARE proteins, focusing on neuronal exocytosis and fusion of endosomes. In addition, we work on the uptake and storage by synaptic vesicles of neurotransmitters, and we are generally interested in the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of presynaptic function.
