Cell cycle checkpoints and cancer

The Medema group focuses on the function of cell cycle checkpoints and chromosome segregation. One aim is to unravel the mechanisms responsible for cell cycle re-entry after DNA damage. The other aim is to unravel the mechanisms underlying bipolar spindle assembly, and to exploit chromosome missgegregation as a means to target cancer cells.
