Our research has dealt with the characterization of protein-DNA interactions in transcription regulation and DNA repair using the methods of NMR spectroscopy. For the lac repressor of E.coli we have determined the structure of both specific and non-specific DNA complexes. We have elucidated the mode of DNA sliding, and the allosteric binding mechanism of the repressor.
