The overarching theme of my research is understanding information encoding in genomic sequences, and how this information is processed in the pathway leading from DNA to protein sequences. We are interested in annotating genes in genomes across the tree of life, in deciphering the molecular mechanisms involved in their transcription and in the impact of this transcription in organismal phenotypes.
