Our research is driven by long-standing interests in chromosome folding, dynamics and segregation in unicellular microorganisms. Our initial focus was on budding yeast, but we now investigate several bacterial species through complementary, interdisciplinary approaches. We have also developed computational techniques aiming at improving genome assembly and metagenomic/pan-genomic analysis through derivative chromosome conformation capture assays.
