My research is focused on understanding how divergent modes of cell death (apoptosis, necrosis, necroptosis) are regulated and the inflammatory consequences thereof. I have a particular interest in molecules that are released from necrotic cells to drive inflammation (called DAMPs) and we are currently working on the hypothesis that members of the extended IL-1 family are the canonical DAMPs.
