Our group investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying the adaptation of cancer cells to hypoxia and acidosis in the tumour microenvironment and examines their impact on cancer progression and therapy resistance. We focus on the role of carbonic anhydrase 9, a pH-regulating enzyme induced by hypoxia in tumour tissues. Our goal is to explore its clinical value as a cancer biomarker and target for immunotherapy using monoclonal antibodies.
