My group uses biochemical, biophysical, cell biological and genetic approaches as well as diverse model systems to investigate the assembly and function of biomolecular condensates. The primary focus of the group is to understand how condensates protect cells from environmental perturbations and stress and how condensates become dysfunctional and cause age-related disease such as neurodegeneration and cancer.
Keywords: Stress adaptation / prion-like proteins / phase separation / biomolecular condensates / protein quality control
