Physiological roles of cellular stress responses

Stress insults to cells elicit signaling through the stress-activated MAP kinases p38 and JNK. In an organismal context, such signaling underlies important physiological properties such as muscle plasticity and metabolic flexibility. My lab works to decode the molecular stress signals and their sensors which give rise to these physiological adaptations.
