My group studies cancer initiation and recurrence following treatment. We explore how the interplay between driver mutations in neural progenitor cells and activation of tissue injury responses promotes initiation and whether these mechanisms are reactivated in early recurrence. We focus on glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive type of primary brain cancer, with the goal of identifying more effective treatment strategies.
