I seek to decipher how synapses, particularly their presynaptic active zones, assemble their protein architectures to support specific brain functions and behavioural adaptation. Thus, I adapt novel imaging techniques, particularly, super-resolution light microscopy (STED). I also analyse mechanisms of age-induced memory impairment, and thus could initiate the clinical testing of spermidine supplementation as an anti-brain-aging strategy.
