Debilitating emotional problems are a hallmark of autism and stress-related psychiatric disorders. Our laboratory uses animal models to explore the neural basis of these phenomena in the brain's emotional hub, the amygdala, across biological scales – from molecular and synaptic mechanisms at one end to their behavioral consequences at the other.
