Our group uses genetics in mammalian cells to study human disease. We focus on the development of tools for genetics in human cells and we use those to identify genes that play important roles in human disease. In the last years we have developed a new genetic model system that allows yeast-like genetics in haploid human cells. We have applied this platform to identify genes involved in biosynthetic pathways, genes that play a role in drug action and host factors used by pathogens.
