Our group is elucidating how specific neuron types are generated under embryogenesis and maintained as stably differentiated neurons in adult life. We are specifically focusing on dopamine neurons, a cell type within the central nervous system that is fundamentally important in motor functions, award and cognition. We use mouse molecular genetics and stem cells as tools to study the problems of our interest.
